Your
First Visit
On your first visit, you can expect
to have a conversation first with Dr. Mickelson or Dr. Klinginsmith about what’s bothering you. They will ask you
do to some simple range-of-motion exercises and perform a few orthopedic tests in order to help them evaluate your
health and also to determine if x-rays are necessary.
At that point, they will talk to you about what they
found and what they recommend for treatment. If you’re a candidate for chiropractic care, they can perform
your first adjustment on the first visit. At TCWC, we realize that your time and money is
valuable, therefore we have set up our office and treatment plans to get you feeling better in the shortest amount
of time as possible. We will do our best to correct your condition within 6 visits, through chiropractic treatments,
exercises and/or acupuncture. We will not pressure you for more visits than we feel is necessary
for your recovery. Of course every person and situation is different, some patients may need 2 visits
to feel better, while another patient may need 7 visits. If we are unable to get you pain free within the 6 visits,
we will either explain why more visits are needed or we will refer you to another specialist. Of course, we won’t
do anything without talking to you about it first and explaining what we’re going to do.
After the
first adjustment, it is expected that you will feel slightly sore and/or achy. Don't be alarmed, that is to be expected.
This discomfort will disappear as treatment is continued. When the body has been out of alignment for
a certain amount of time, it has to "readjust" to being in the proper position, this is the cause of the slight
discomfort after an adjustment.
If you’re not a candidate for chiropractic care, we will
recommend you to some of the top doctors in our area who specialize in the care you need.
